The ' Aging of the Population' is characterized by the relatively rapid increase of the aged population i.e. the population aged 60 years and above. With a large population, second only to China, India has to give serious attention to the issues relating to the aged population. A majority of this population live in rural areas.
In the Indian Society, the cultural values and the traditional practices emphasize that the elderly members of the family be treated with honor and respect. The families of the aged persons are expected to ensure the needed care and support for the aged. We have taken up the responsibility to take care of the aged and have started certain pension schemes to provide care and support for the aged and also medical aid.
